本书描绘的内容真实而又奇异，包括如何在水床上构思密室小说、在与友人聚会时因为不可错过的灵感而甩下众人冲出房间、在百货公司的二楼耗费一整天找不到通往一楼的电梯、在电影院听到婴儿的哭闹被母亲强行制止发出痛苦的微声、冒充学生去大学社团报名甚至一同制作同仁杂志、在漫画店里借宿而不是住旅馆、在漫画店里遇到的穷酸男人居然是著名漫画家、从环保家具店买来的沙发上总是坐着一个铁青着脸的少年……
作者将波澜万丈、奇奇怪怪而又平稳无事的日常生活，以其独特的舒缓文体连缀成篇，在虚实交错、亦真亦幻中建立一个有异于作者本人的另一种人格。
